Questions beginners ask

For Carnatic music, Scale 4 / F suits most beginners aged 10 and above, and Scale 5 / G suits younger children. For Hindustani music, I recommend the G Natural Base for adults. If you are still unsure, message me before you order.

Follow the style you are learning. Carnatic flutes have eight finger holes and are used for South Indian classical music. Bansuris have six and are used for Hindustani classical, film and light music. If you have a teacher or a course, ask which one they teach on.

I don’t hold stock. Your flute is sourced from the maker after you order, then I test it in my studio and fine-tune it if needed. I do this alongside concerts and recordings, and I won’t rush it.

Packing and courier is ₹600 per parcel of up to three flutes (a set counts as three), to any address in India. Tracking details are emailed once the flute is dispatched.

Each flute is wrapped securely, so damage is rare. If it happens, record an unboxing video that clearly shows the damage and send it to me. Refund requests need that video.

Each flute is sourced and tested for one order, so I can’t take returns or exchanges. Damage in transit is covered, as described above.

No. These are handmade, indigenous bamboo flutes, which are exempt from GST. You pay the price shown plus packing and courier.

No. Covers and cases are widely available in music shops and online, in every size.

Not at the moment. I can only test and recommend flutes for right-handed players.

This service is for absolute beginners. If you already have a guru, ask them to choose your next flute with you, because it should suit the way you now play.

Not yet. The delivery address must be in India; an order with an address outside India is cancelled and refunded.
