C Natural Medium
Easiest to hold
The shortest of the three, with the most comfortable grip. Suits film songs, light music and folk tunes.
Length ≈ 19 in (48 cm)
HomeHindustani flutes
Three bansuris for Hindustani classical, film and light music, each tested by me before it is sent. For absolute beginners who play right-handed and live in India.
For adult beginners in Hindustani classical, I recommend the G Natural Base. The A Natural Base and C Natural Medium are shorter and easier to hold.
The flutes are drawn to scale against the ruler, so you can compare their sizes.

Easiest to hold
The shortest of the three, with the most comfortable grip. Suits film songs, light music and folk tunes.
Length ≈ 19 in (48 cm)

Between the two
Easier breath control than the C medium and a more comfortable grip than the G base. Warm, sweet tone.
Length ≈ 22.5 in (57 cm)

Adult beginners
The deep, warm bansuri sound. Give yourself five to ten days to settle into the grip.
Length ≈ 25 in (63.5 cm)
Practising on different scales teaches you how much breath each octave needs and trains your fingers to adjust. A set costs less than buying the flutes one by one.

Packing and courier: ₹600 per order, for up to three flutes, anywhere in India. Covers are not included.
Tell me who the flute is for and which style they are learning, and I will point you to the right scale.
